[Opinions] Gilda
I sorta like Gilda pronounced like the character from Rigoletto, with a soft G (JEEL-da). Would this hypothetical Gilda be doomed to a lifetime of either living in Italy or explaining and correcting the pronunciation of her name? Jielda would be a clearer way to spell it, I suppose, but that kinda looks funny.

I really dislike Gilda pronunced that way, but Gilda pronunced as Gilda Radner did is one of my favourites.Array

I like it the way that you want to pronounce it. I think that she will spend her entire life correcting the pronounciation, because probably the most famous Gilda, Gilda Radner, pronounced it with a hard G.

I immediately assumed a hard G until you explained, and I think most people would, at least in my part of the world (like Gilda Radner). I do think it's pretty with the soft G, but I believe pronunciation would be a problem.

My neighbor is named Gilda and she prn it JIL-da. I don't like the name but that can be because the WAS an drug addict and she is very..hmm..strange.I don't think you need to say how to prn it all the time. :)

I like the sound of the name but yes you may have trouble with the pronounciation. I don't like the look of Jielda
