[Opinions] Kodie for a girl
Following my other post, what do you think of Kodie for a girl? Is it too masculine? I think it would be really cool. What would you name a sister to Kodie?

I knew a girl in High School named Kody. She never liked her name. There were several guy Cody's at our school so I think she felt unfeminine. But, I always looked at the name as being for either gender, and with the spelling Kodie there would be no mistaking it was a girl. I think I would stick with Cody for a boy though, I always liked it for a boy.

I don't like Cody for a boy, and really, really dislike Kodie for a girl.As Jae said, I would expect Kodie's sister to have a name such as Hailey or a variant; Kayley or a variant; Kylie ... ; Kelsee ...; or some such.

Ouch. Don't.

I for one am against naming girls boys names, and vice versa. Names should tell you the gender of the person, not hide it! I also never liked the name Cody.

Cody is ok for a boy, but still not one that I would use. I really dislike it for a girl especially with the spelling Kodie. It's way too trendy. I would expect Kodie's sister to have a trendy name, such as:
Haley / Hailey / Hayley / Hailie / Haylee
Kaylee / Kaylie / Kailee / Kailey / Cailey / Kayleigh
Kayla
Shaylee / Shaylie / Shailey
Kylie / Kylee / Kyleigh / Kiley
Summer
Emmalee
Kelsey / Kelsie / Kelsea
Bailey
Riley
Madison / Madisyn / Maddison / Madyson / Maddyson
Addison / Adyson / Addisyn / Addyson, etc.

I knew a girl named Cody.I didn't like her. But I knew she was a girl! =)I'd give her sister an ultra-femme name, just to be weird.Like Cordelia.Actually, if your worried about it, you could name her Cordelia and call her some variation of Cody as a nickname. :D

Tremendously horrible. Sorry, I don't like it at all. It's so sickenly trendy, unintellectual, and - yes - to masculine as well.

Kodie is bad on a boy and worse on a girl. It looks very informal and nicknamey and completely unsuitable for anyone over the age of twelve. Can you really picture a 30-, 40-, or 60-year-old woman named Kodie? The sad trend today is to pick names based on how "cute" and "cool" they are for a little girl or boy, without any thought as to how sophisticated, versatile, and appropriate they will be for an adult.Cody or Codie would make a cute nickname for something else; Cordelia, perhaps. Then she would have a formal, feminine name to use as well.

I would spell this name Cody and it's definitely a boys name to me.

I don't think it's cool but I think it's OK for a girl. Codie is nice to.

Ick. I knew a girl by this name, and it grosses me out. Grody Kodie. Sorry, but even though I have bad personal associations with the name, I still dont like it.

Cody is not feminine at all, and Kodie is just misspelled. Why must "cool" mean illiterate and/or trendy?

I don't like Kodie, but (thanks to the movie "Bless the Child") I love the name Cody on a girl . . . and the name Codie or Codi would be okay, just not quite as good as Cody.
Unfortunately I have met sisteres (not twins, though) named Jodi and Codi. Please please please please don't do this to a child. I have also met twin boys named Corey and Cody which, while better than Codi and Jodi, is still a little matchy for my taste.how about (I'm gonna spell it "Cody" for my own sake and ego . . . please don't let my spelling bother you ^_^):Cody and Sasha
Cody and Nona
Cody and Odette*
Cody and Phoebe
Cody and Adrienne
Cody and Mariah
* I wouldn't use this combo because of the themey-goodness, but I do think the two names go good together.

Don't like Kodie on a boy or a girl to be honest. Oh & I would prefer the spelling Cody. I would rather use Colby on a girl. The first sibset that comes to mind is Kodie & Ashley.
