Lara is a gorgeous name. I pronounce it as LAHR-ah rather than LAIR-uh though.
I don't think that it sounds trendy persay, but I can see it gaining in popularity.
I've considered using it as well, but I think it would be too similar to my sisters name Laurie (LAHR-ee), and be confused with Laura which I don't care for.
Lara & Miriam sound wonderful as sisters, and I like how Lara & Jonas sound together as well.
Personally I would steer away from using Emma & Faith. I dislike using the same name as another family member unless it's to honor them. Plus, your SIL may dislike it.
