[Opinions] Annika- pronunciation
I am curious as to how most people pronounce this name, particularly in the US. Also, do you think the combo Annika Jane sounds nice together? We are using Jane as the middle name to honor family members.

Anne-ick-uhYes, I think Annika Jane sounds nice although I see Jane very much as a filler.

ahn-ik-aThat's the way I've always heard it, and I know quite a few. It's okay with Jane.

I pronounce it ANN-i-kuh, and that is the only pronunciation I like. I think Annika Jane is lovely. :)

ANN-ih-kah, though I've also heard ah-NEE-kah, which I don't care for.

I say "AH-nih-kuh." Annika Jane sounds nice together, but 1). Jane is nmsaa and 2). although the roots of Annika and Jane are different, they have very similar meanings. I'm just anal enough that those similarities would make the combo unusable for me. If you don't mind your daughter being named "Grace; God is gracious" then by all means, use the combo. :o)

I pn it more like - Ah-ni-kah (ni as in Nick without the -ck ending, its softer then the nee sound). However, I pn almost every name different than others. My boyfriend and I dont agree on have the names we like, but we dont mind too much

I love Annika.I'm not from the US, but I pronounce it with a very short A (like in cat), and the stress on the first syllable. Sort of like A-ni-kuh.Not a fan of Jane, but as a combo Annika Jane flows well.

I've met three, and all said it AH-nih-kuh. Basically it sounds like Monica with no M.

I'd say AH-nik-a. My mother taught a little girl whose parents used this spelling and said a-NEE-ka, though I've most often (on television, from other people, etc) heard it pronounced the same way I say it.

I prefer AHN-nee-kah as well. I don't like Annika Jane together because they basically share the same name elements in their Hebrew forms, see the meanings of Hannah and John (for Jane). It is a bit like naming a boy Andrew Alexander, but not as obvious in its repetitiveness.
