[Opinions] Do you prefer Italian names ? x
Replies
No I hate Italian names. My high school was mostly Italian and there was no end to the Guiseppes and Guilias and Francescas. Maybe if I was of Italian descent I would like them.
I love Italian names!
Claire - Chiara: I like Claire better. I've met a few Chiaras and I find the name gets tiresome after hearing it for a while.
Simone - Simona: Simona is adorable. I don't really like Simone.
George - Gorgio: Not a fan of either of them
Joe - Giusseppe: I like Joseph better than Giusseppe, but I don´t care about Joe as a nn.
Sophie - Sophia: I really like them both.
Emily - Emilia: Emily is so much better imo.
Julie - Julia: Both are very nice.
Anton/Anthony - Antonio: I don't like either.
Lucy - Lucia: I like Lucía much better.
Frances- Francesca: I'm with the Italians again.
Luke - Luca: They're both nice but not my style.
Edited: It seems I can't spell Giusseppe properly! I'll have to look for it in the data base.

I love some Italian names, but also love English, Irish and Spanish names
From your list, I prefer all the non-Italians names. But that doesn't mean I don't like / love the Italian ones too. And there are some Italian names that I prefer to the English / other version:
Ginevra I prefer to Jennifer
Benedetta I prefer to Benedicta
Constanza I prefer to Constance
Emilia I prefer to Amelia
Diana I prefer to Diane
Camilla I prefer to Camille
Juno and Junia I prefer to June
Domenica I prefer to Dominique

Giuseppe and Giorgio, I believe, are what you want. :)
For the most part, no, I don't prefer Italian names. I'm not Italian and don't feel particularly attached to the country. So while I might like some, it's not simply because they're Italian, you know?
Of those, I do prefer Emilia to Emily, but that's because I loved Emilia in Othello.
