Help[Opinions] WDYT of Honey
What do you think of the name Honey? I know a lot of people hate it. There was a character named Honey in a book and her full name was Honor. I just thought it was a good alternative to Nora.

I actually don't mind Honey. It's quite cute and sweet (no pun intended!!), I don't know if I'd ever use it, but I do kinda like it.

I actually like it
I didn't see it as a viable name for a person until I read The Miracle at St. Bruno's, by Philippa Carr, which had a character named Honey in it. Her real name was Honeysuckle, and she was named thus because her mother had smelled honeysuckle during her child's conception.
I think Honey isn't overly cutesy, but you must use a really solid, preferably traditional mn to balance the moderness and some-may-think trendiness of Honey.
Oh, and don't use Honeysuckle. That's just too much imo.

LOL. She's Filipino, and does have black hair! But she has brown eyes, tan skin, her hair is very straight and long, and she's short and very petite. She's about 30 years old. At least she doesn't have violet eyes...that really would creep me out. LOL

Honey is actually a cute nn for Honor, imo. I never thought of that. But I would have it be more of a 'family & close friends' nn rather than what everyone called her.
I do know a woman named Honey, and she's rather ditzy so I don't have a great personal association with the name. Actually, her fn is Honeysuckle. :- She said her mother said it was growing outside her dorm room when she found out she was pregnant with her, so that's what she named her. Sheesh.

As a family nickname it might be more acceptable after all if little Honor hated it she could always insist on people using Nora or her full name, while the poor child or young woman saddled with Honey as a full name has little choice
Someone my husband knew before he met me named her daughter Honey but later at the child insistance and her own taste changing Honey was changed to Melissa

If anything its a pet name, a pet name I CANT STAND. And even if I did like it, I wouldn't like friends, teachers calling me honey. And when the child gets a job...the boss to call her Honey?
