Dilys?
What do you think of this name, it means 'genuine' in Welsh. I am really starting to like it, but do you automatically think of 'dill', as in a foolish person, or is that just me? Thanks.

It's alright. It could grow on me.

yeah dill. cute meaning.

I don't really care for the sound of it. It makes me think of a cross between Dylan (too masculine for a girl) and Phyllis (an unattractive name imo). And the "dill" part does stand out.

I don't care for it. It isn't feminine or masculine, and it looks made up.

I love the name Dilys. It is beautiful and uncommon without sounding bizarre. i know a 5 year old girl called Dilys and she is just gorgeous. If you are considering it for a real baby then i say go for it.

I did make the "dill" association (though I must only have known that word subconsciously; I just thought it reminded me of "silly", and didn't know why). However, otherwise I think Dilys is a sweet name.

I just think of the woman from Fireman Sam! Tbh Dilys is a granny name to me. I have never heard of dill being used as a name for a foolish person, so I wouldn't associate it with that. I know a woman called Dill and whilst it's unusual, I don't think there's anything wrong with it

I think it's a lovely sweet name, but unfortunately I do think both of 'dill' and of 'ditsy' when I hear it. Pity, because it's a great sound!
