Kai or Skye?
I love both Kai and Skye for girls. However, I obviously couldn't use both in the same sibling set. So which do you prefer? (Skye is after the island, because of childhood holidays there.)_____________________________________________________________________"[David Gest] looks like he's had a lot of plastic surgery done, but not by a plastic surgeon."Elinor

Kai is a boys name. Skye seems much more girly anyway.

I don't like either, but I would go with Skye. Kai is a boy's name to me. "Dance like no one's watching."

to me kai is a boys name but, if you add an a to kai you get a girls name. my cousin is named chaia pron: kai-uh. so maybe skye and kaia, chaia, however youd want to spell it, as a sib set?

I'd rather see Kai on a boy, so Skye it'll have to be. ;) I agree with Bex on her neither, though. I'd be unhappy being named either of them, personally--they're not at all feminine and far too short.Array

Is "neither" a choice?Skye is not a name to me, but a word, and I dislike naming children after places. I think children should only be named after people. Kai reminds me of the car Kia, and it isn't masculine or feminine. Sorry, but I can't even choose just one.

Skye, definitely. Aside from the fact that I can't really see Kai on a girl, Skye is just beautiful. Especially if it has significance to you. Does popularity bother you at all though? Evidently it was 55th in Scotland last year, which really surprised me!

You're right, Skye is growing in popularity here *sob*. The island names are very big at the moment - Iona and Isla rank high as well, I believe, as do Harris and Lewis for boys (though of course those two have other origins besides being island names). So, I'm hoping Skye will not be this popular if and when I have my own children. It doesn't *feel* popular to me, because I'm not at an age where I know a lot of young babies. Still, I wouldn't use it if it stays at that kind of popularity.Thank you for the feedback :-)_____________________________________________________________________"[David Gest] looks like he's had a lot of plastic surgery done, but not by a plastic surgeon."Elinor
