I don't think there's anything wrong with using Indian names on different races. One of my favorite names is Rhys which is Welsh and I'm not the tiniest bit Welsh :)Anyways, I like:
Chandra
Mina - I love this one
Mira - Ditto
Tara
VedaAmar
Kiran
Ravi

I've seen all the girls' names except Vidya used on people of other races, though not always spelled like that. The one Indira I ran across was Mexican, I think. I think the girls' names work pretty well, but the boys' names... I can't see many of them used on boys of non-Indian descent.

My thoughts.I think that the majority of these could work. I love them as well, btw. :-DChandra- Brings to mind Chandra Levy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chandra_Levy). However I'm from DC where she was murdered. It could definitely work.Indira- beauty - This might be a little bit harder to pull off, but I still love it.Kamala- lotus/pale red - Eh. I don't care for the sound and I think many people would see it as kreativ.Leela- I love this! Just a great name...except that the spelling reminds me of an obnoxious woman from the Midwest. :-(Mina- It's also a nn for Wilhelmina. It can definitely work.Mira- My niece's name. :-D It suits her quite well.Neela - I prefer Nila, and it works.Rani - It could work...but it looks Midwest kreativ. :-(Reva - I adore this. Problem? It's one letter away from Reba and most people would see that. Tara - Of course this would fly. Veda - This is workable and I love it.Vidya - I would actually assume this was Russian. I love it as well and it could definitely work.BoysAmar - Awesome. Adding this.Anand - Again, could work.Kiran - Kir is a popular sound, the name is great.Nilam - It could work, like it but not as much as the others.Rama - very close to Ram, but still cute.Ravi - one of my favorite names. Overall, awesome list.

Most names would work, imo.I like these ones AND could imagine them on children that are not Indian:Chandra- Actually, I can imagine this name pretty much only on a African-American, cute little girl, not so much on girls from other countries/with another origin.
Indira- Actually, I think on a girl who's not from India I would find the name very... snobbish. I mean, I would find that it sounds like the girl is stuck up and too full of herself.
Leela- I think it's gorgeous. I hope that no one associates the name to THE Leela in Futurama...
Mina- I like the name.
Mira- Very nice.
Neela- I really love this name.
Reva- beautiful
Tara- The name is OK, kind of cute, but not that interesting.BoysKiran- I really love it!
Nilam- same here. very special

I think Chandra, Indira, Leela, Mina, Mira, Neela, Tara and Kiran could definitely work and I do like Indira, Leela, Neela and Kiran. Maybe Rani, Reva and Ravi could work too.

Chandra would definitely work. I didn't even know it was an Indian name until I saw it in a book not long ago because the only two girls I've ever met named Chandra were both caucasian.
