Hester..
I posted about this a while ago, but my sister is pregnant with a girl. Her new favorite name for the baby is Hester, as in Hester Prynne of The Scarlet Letter. She is also considering using Hester as the middle name. The other names she really likes right now are Rachel and Isabelle or Isabella, called Bella. The last name will be Jordan. So basically her favorite combos are:Hester Jordan (undecided middle name)
Rachel Hester Jordan
Isabelle Hester Jordan "Bella"
Isabella Hester Jordan "Bella"What do you think?

I agree with the others who've said that there's just something about it I like. It has a soft sound and is underused. Of the combos you listed I like Rachel Hester Jordan the best even though Hester isn't the fn.Hester Pearl
Hester Marguerite
Hester Bella
Hester Louise
Hester Cecile

There's something about Hester I really like. It's certainly not pretty, but it's got a quirkiness to it. I know if I were called Hester, I'd be self-conscious using that name. But for someone else -- especially a fictional characater -- I think it's interesting :-)I'm so tired of Isabelle and Isabella - they're everybody's favourites! But I guess I'd choose Isabella Hester from the options you gave._____________________________________________________________________Elinor'Why do people with closed minds, always open their mouths?'

I found a new appreciation of the name Pearl after reading The Scarlet Letter, but I still don't care for Hester. It's strange, because I really like Esther. My favorite combo is Isabella Hester Jordan.

Hester is very pretty, I like it a lot, and the meaning is pretty. Hester Isabelle Jordan would be a nice name.

Definitely Rachel Hester. I think it's pretty, but too Scarlet Letter-ish for a first name.

I love Hester. Isabelle and Rachel are extremely well represented in the next generation. It needs a smattering of Hesters. I met a little Esther once, but not a Hester yet. Hester Rachel
Hester Miriam
Hester Rebecca
Hester Margaret (means pearl - subtle SL reference)
Hester Kate
Hester Anne
Hester Abigail
Hester Lilith
Hester Elisheva
Hester Frances

I think I like any name but Hester. Rachel, Isabelle, Isabella, Bella are beautiful. Jordan is ok, but not pretty. Hester is just not a name people use at all. Is it?
