Aneirin
Wdyto this name (a-NYE-rin) for a boy?I think the sound is lovely, and I like the namesake of Aneurin Bevan.Nye could also be a sweet nn, though I wouldn’t use it all the time.
Some combos I like …

I also quite like the female version, Aneira.
Let me know your thoughts!

It's quite interesting, actually. I'm not familiar with it, and though it does have quite a "different" sound, and would be a bit difficult for most to remember the spelling, I think it's kind of nice. I also think the nn Nye is cute, too. I like Aneirin Connell (Conal) and Aneirin Theodore the best. Another Welsh name as a mn, though a more common one, might be nice as well. I don't know about Aneira, though. Maybe with a different spelling...Anyra looks off, Anaira is slightly better but would also be mispronounced, I think.

I can't say I like either. Aneirin looks and sounds like the name of a medication to me--like, "Oh, yeah, I stopped taking Prozac because I was having really bad side effects. I'm on 50 mg of Aneirin, though, and that's working out." Plus, the first thing I saw when I read the name was "aneurysm." Aneira doesn't really do it for me either. And another thing it sounds like to me--because my little sister is silly, this name sounds exactly like the way she would say "an iron." The rest of us say "EYE-urn" for iron, but she says "EYE-ruhn."I do like the nickname Nye, though. It's reminiscent of childhood for me--I grew up watching Bill Nye the Science Guy, like every other American child of the 90s, heh. :DOf your combos, I think I like Aneirin Marcus and Aneirin Theodore best.Array

I agree. I don't like the sound of the name at all. "It's reminiscent of childhood for me--I grew up watching Bill Nye the Science Guy, like every other American child of the 90s, heh. :D"I met Bill Nye last spring and had lunch with him. He's a funny guy, but not at all like I expected him to be. His jokes were quite risque. ;0)

I agree...I agree that Aneirin looks like a type of medication. Scary...I don't like Nye as a nickname though. This name just doesn't do it for me.I think Aneirin Marcus is best though.Ceevie
