19th century English sisters with name nerd parents
I stumbled across these English sisters on a genealogy site - looks like the parents and maternal grandparents were name nerds:Genevieve Julie Henrietta Zoe Estelle Hephzibah Mason Knight Eaton
born 1873
Gretchen Constance Lea Wynefrell Maria Zanaide Mason Eaton
born 1874
(I suspect Wynefrell was the transcriber's error for Wynefred)
Father:Henry Knight Eaton
Mother: Julia Margaret Georgianna Emma MasonI like the way the babies were given mother's maiden name towards the end of the combo.

Those are super long names. Individually, I like:
Genevieve
Julie
Zoe
Estelle - The Zoe Estelle part of the older daughter's name is lovely.
Constance
Julia
EmmaZanaide caught my attention. I think I like it, but I prefer Zenaide and Zenaida.

Hepzibah has just gone on to my list! It sounds beautiful and has an awesome meaning. I do find that Julie and Zoe don't flow well though.:0)

The combinations are too unwieldy and cacophonous for my liking, but I love Henrietta, Estelle, Hephzibah, Constance, and Maria.

Ha! That's so neat! Makes me wonder if the parents were royalty, pretentious or just indecisive when it came to naming their girls. Genevieve and Gretchen is an odd sibset too. Julie, Zoe and Lea are a bit odd to see for the era. Wynefrell is actually so interesting I almost hope it wasn't a misspelling and really honored a great aunt or something! ;). Zanaide is interesting too. I wonder how they chose in which order to put the names? This is so me if I only had two kids and could totally namenerd on their names, I'd use as many of my favorite names as I could! :)Thanks for sharing!

I think the father was a clergyman.

I've come across this family before - can't remember in what context. I think there were nine of them, all with similarly fancy handles. There was a brother called Horman - definitely not Norman! - which I've never seen before.

Genevieve, Henrietta, Constance, are lovely, and I'd love Zanaide if it were Zenaide....
