"Loss & Grief in Children's Literature"? Sounds like an interesting class.I like Hans, too. It's short, it's sweet, but it pack a wallop. I love names like that.

It's an interesting class so far.

I love the way it sounds, but I'd never use it because of a personal association.

In the Netherlands it's an older name, most people named Hans are at least 45 years old. I don't like it.

Yup.I know several men named Hans and they're all over 40 years old. Hearing that someone named their baby Hans would be a little strange (not shocking, but it would stand out among other kids names).Hans in itself isn't bad, but not something I'd ever consider.

Same in Sweden. I don't like it either.

Hans is a name that sounds kind to me, because my mother had two uncles named Hans (one was called Hasse and one was simply called Hans). They were both very kind, so it's not a name I would call ugly, but it's not a name I would choose for a child.
