I actually quite like it, although I'm not a country fan. But I prefer Wayland.

I like the look and sound of it but it's just too strongly associated with "country" for my taste, mostly definitely cause of Waylon Jennings. It's a strong cowboy name.

Makes me think of whales or The Simpsons.

All I hear is "wailin" like the slang for "wailing". So no, sorry.

Smithers, Smithers, Smithers. My second thought is the slang meaning 'beat up' as in 'we're gonna wail on you'

I hope you like Waylon Jennings, because that name is very closely associated with him. Most everybody knows of him even if they aren't country music fans, and there don't seem to be any other famous Waylons.

I kind of want to like it, but it sounds like "wailing" or "whaling", with the final G dropped, as many people do drop it, and neither one of those images are too nice for me, so I don't like it.

Ditto.

I really like it but I always feel like the only one. I think it sounds strong and would age well plus I think it's easy to pronounce and spell. I could see it fitting in with popular names right now because of the A sound and the -on ending but it's still definitely not popular at all.
