Piper
I have always loved the names Piper (due to Charmed) and would like to make a sibset with Lily Rebecca now i know the Piper is a unisex name, it would have to have quite a feminine mn) I like name that are quite pretty but not too popular and tinged oldish such as Danielle,

Well, Piper is only "unisex" in the sense that one could find a few examples in the 19th century in English speaking countries of men given almost every British surname as their first name. But it was never even moderately common as a boys' name so I think it's really pretty "feminine" in its entire usage pattern. It was created in 1950 as a female given name for the stage name of the actress Piper Laurie, who was born Rosetta Jacobs. I've never been able to like Piper as a first name ever since I read an interview with Ms. Laurie, who said she hated the name herself and was sorry she had let her agent convince her to use it. :)I agree it would be best to pair it with a "feminine" middle name. Piper Abigail, Piper Arabella, Piper Suzanne, -- something like that.

I think Piper is more feminine than masculine. I love the name. I remember the first time I heard it (even before Charmed.) The people across the street from me named their daughter Piper and I thought it was sooo strange, but now that little girl is 7 and it is unbelievable how well it fits her! Piper... it's sooooo cute!

What about Piper Ophelia?

I have to agree with Kris Rose on the name Piper. The first thought that pops into my head is an old man smoking on a pipe also! In my opinion this is like one of the worst names ever! I can't stand this name.

It was a guilty pleasure for a while, actually. I find it quite cute and quirky. I think Zoe & Piper would make a nice sibset. But it's gotten so darn trendy, and the more I think about the sound, the more I don't really care for it much after all. :-/ Piper Genevieve pops into my as a combo.

Someone who plays the pipe or bagpipe?Sorry, but I hate the name 'Piper.' To me, its like naming someone's child 'drummer' or 'guitarist.' To make things worse, its a surname.I would rather see a girl with a nice old fashioned name like Margaret than see a corny name like Piper.

I personally cant stand this name...I think of one who pipes, which is kind of the meaning, but unlike the musical instrument (flute), I think of smoking the pipe. Whenever I hear Piper, I think of some old guy sitting in his rocking chair, smoking a pipe. Lily isnt my style either, but I like it a lot more than Piper...and they arent two names I would pair together. Then again I think of Lily as a sweet flower, and the pipe smoke doesnt really mix well with the nice feeling. Anyway...maybe my view on the name is just off, but I would stick with Lily Rebecca and go with something else. If you really love it, maybe use it as a mn?~~Kris~~
