Mildred
Having watched "The Worst Witch" recently (which I recommend) I can't help but find Mildred charming. It genuinely sounds nice to me now. Opinions? And these are some other characters, what do you think?Drusilla
Ethel
Maud
Enid

I don't watch TV so I don't get the reference, but I've liked Mildred my whole life. It was the name of my grandmother.
I did pick up on other people not liking it, that it sounds unfashionable ... so I wouldn't use it, but I do like it.
I like Drusilla, but mostly I like the Dru-part. I don't like the sill / ill part. I'd rather it were Drusia or Drusana or something else.
I dislike Ethel. It's like a cough. I like Ethelind okay though. I'd rather Ethel were Edel. And Mildred were Mildreth. the d/th thing seems so arbitrary!
I don't care much for Maud because it reminds me of "mod" and maudlin and maul and maw-maw (what my grandparents called their grandma). Not very appealing. But Harold and Maud made it seem namey, at least. It's not horrible.
I really don't like Enid. Just the sound of it - it makes me think of a maggot. ??

I had a great grandma Mildred Katherine. She hated her name so much she went by Katherine.

I love Mildred, especially with the nickname Millie. Drusilla is very witchy. Of the other four names, Ethel is my favorite, then Maud, then Enid, and Drusilla is last.

I like Mildrith better. I like Maud too.

Those books are adorable. The only if those names really I like is Maud. As for Mildred, I really like the “Mil” part, it’s-dred that’s bothersome.

Drusilla is too linked to vampires to me, and Ethel doesn't do anything for me, but I adore Mildred, Maud and Enid. Mildred and Maud are both on my long-list, and Enid would be if I didn't want to not add another E name into the family mix.The Worst Witch is one of my favourite things - I adored the books as a child. Have you seen the 1980s Halloween Special movie? It's a musical and has Tim Curry and it is SOMETHING lol.

I love Mildred! It's got such a beautiful meaning and I love the potential nickname Millie. Enid and Ethel are delightful. Drusilla and Maud are lovely, too.

I love itThe meaning is beautiful, and the name is uncommonly elegant. I'm sure most people will disagree with that assessment, but I offer it with conviction. :)I love those other names, too.

I actually like Mildred but I don’t have the guts to use it.
