Sydney vs. Whitney
You have to choose one for a daughter, and you can't say "neither". Which do you choose, and why? What would you use as a middle name? **middle aged woman who angers easily**

I suppose Whitney. I wavered. I dislike them about equally. Sydney's meaning is cooler, but I like the sound of Whitney just a little better. The dn feels like I have a cold. Such a drab name. Whitney is at least a bit sharp. And I kind of like "Whit" as a nickname, it's a bit fun... on a boy... and I guess I could like it OK on a girl too...For a middle name I'd probably go with Mary. If I've given up on everything re: taste and aesthetics, I may as well go for the only virtue left which is honoring. Whitney Mary - that's an OK combo!

we're going to pretend here ...That I don't have a SIL named Whitney.
I'd choose Whitney, because I like it ad I really don't like Sydney. Sydney just sounds sneaky and shady like a mobbed-up Hollywood producer back in the forties who wouldn't be above taking advantage of his leading ladies, or having a troublesome rival fall victim to a mysterious "accident.:Whitney AlexisWhitney DawnWhitney GraceWhitney SuzanneWhitney OpalWhitney Faye

I'd choose Whitney. I don't like the repeated Ys of Sydney, and Whitney has a sharp, clever sort of energy to it that I can appreciate I guess. I like the "Whit" part. If it was Sidonie I'd choose that over Whitney, but Sydney does nothing for me.I totally missed the part about picking a middle name, oops!Whitney Rebecca keeps popping into my mind but I don't even like Rebecca that much! I can't shake it.Whitney Laura appeals to me, Laura would be honoring. Whitney Laurel would also be pretty.
