I think it’s cute. It’s used for kids here so it sounds fresh to me. Which is odd because, at the same time, you can’t NOT think of the Flintstones. But it’s a sweet name and makes me think of a sweet and strong girl I know with that name.

Wilma is decently nice, but I prefer Willa and Wilhelmina in full for feminine variants for William!Wilma Therése
Wilma Gabrielle
Wilma Juliet
Wilma Helen

I just think of Betty Rubble's friend. Willa strikes me as slightly prettier, but a bold alternative might be the medieval Wilmot which was given to girls in medieval England.

Willa feels more fitting and less Starchy a choice

Stuffy and matronly. Willa is slightly better.

Too Flintstones for me. I prefer Wilhelmina with nn Mina or Willa.

It's pretty popular in South Africa as a short form of Wilhelmina; currently I seem to be seeing more people named Wilna, which is presumably a merger nn for Wilhelmina Helena. Either way, it's OK but not something I'd consider using.

I think it's really cute and sassy in a fun retro way.
