What does the name "YASNEY" mean in Russian ?
My maiden name is Yasney.. which I know mean "light" or "clear", or "bright" but is there a part of Russian that the name originated from? Or what profession would someone with the name of Yasney have been?

I don't know the meaning, but here is another factlet: Yasni is the russian search engine (and russian market leader ... they don't favour Google there).
So Russian hate Google?

they don't necessarily hate Google, they just prefer Yasni. But this is going more and more off-topic.
My guess is that Jasnij (I know, fun with transliteration) was used as a description of the person, not a profession. The first with the ln probably had light hair/ eye color, opposed to dark features.
