the year is 2018. Nelson's 8 year service in Japan is coming to a close at the end of August, and he's to return to the US with his new family and Tomoko, now a US citizen by marriage. Blossom, Nelson and Tomoko's firstborn daughter, has been receiving homeschooling, and has started to show interest in art.
Last year Tomoko and Nelson welcomed a son, the last of their children to be born on Japanese soil. Nelson decided to make his commanding officer the child's godfather and namesake. His CO is a Creole man, a native of New Orleans.
