Well. Its been a very eventful couple of years for us. I suppose bad news should come first. We've all had quite a shock after our son Ryan took an overdose of sleeping pills and nearly died five months ago. Our daughter Emmy found him and thankfully no permanent damage has been done although he is now seeing a psychiatrist. We were all shocked and heart-broken when it happened - we felt so guilty for not noticing that anything was wrong. Ryan tells his twin Henry everything and Henry maintains that Ryan did not want to kill himself it was just that 'everything got too much all of a sudden and he wanted to forget stuff'. When questioned further Henry said that they get teased at school because they are parented by a same sex couple. We were naturally devastated.
Anyway - now for the good news! Our eldest, Indigo, is now a father! He and Melanie now have 3 year old twins called Finlay and Aurora. Indy and Melly currently have their own apartment about twenty minutes away from us and we see them at least twice a week with the kids - and of course they need us for babysitting :) Indy and Melly will soon graduate and pursue their prospective careers - Melly will take up a job in an art gallery part time (whilst looking after the kids) and Indigo has taken up a job as a research scientist at a respected zoo. He is hoping to go to Africa for a year in the future to study the animals there and he will take Melly and the kids too. Melly and Indy also plan to get married after they graduate.
In other news, Caspian has started at University and is studying Architecture. He travels down to see us most weekends. He is really enjoying himself and has started going out with a lovely girl called Katrin . Emmy is also doing well at school, she has decided that she wants to study Maths at Cambridge University so she is studying hard for her exams. She also has a new boyfriend called Adrien who seems really nice. Henry took the 'incident' with Ryan very badly but he has also managed to pull himself together and the twins are both beginning to turn back into the cheerful and cheeky boys they used to be.
P.s Sorry for the reams of writing! And also - as i'm english i'm not altogether clear on the american school/grade/college system - so i'm putting grades and college in the background but in my head i'm setting it in England - if that makes sense - so I'm sorry if i make any mistakes :)
