[Opinions] Re: The parents followed their doctor's advice
in reply to a message by Ylva
Geez! You think!? I would be affected for life too if I found out that I was really a man. That would be just a 'little' scary. Aria

Everything seemed to be ok for a whileDavid got a a big sum in damages, he had a family and a job. But then he lost his job, he invested his money unwisely and left his family. But the fact that his twin brother also committed suicide shows that the family just could not cope. The brothers were not even close. But plastic surgery was not as advanced in those times, so I can see why they though "changing him into a girl" was the best thing to do.Personally I can't see why parents cicumcise their sons (unless they have strong religious reasons as Jews or Muslims). Why take the risk? Why fix something that isn't broken?"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

""Personally I can't see why parents cicumcise their sons (unless they have strong religious reasons as Jews or Muslims). Why take the risk? Why fix something that isn't broken?""American Academy of Pediatrics has only within the past maybe 5 yrs or so NOT recommended circumcision. Previously, it had been pretty much routinely done in the US.

Extra incomes for the doctorsI suspect this is the reason the doctors did not speak out before."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

Circumcising is supposed to prevent males from getting certian deseases. I'm not sure which ones, but everyone I know has gotten their baby boys circumcized. It's not a religious thing at all as far as I know, just safety.

Actually I did read an article saying that the rates of transmission of the AIDS virus were less in circumcized men then in uncircumcized men. If I can find the link I'll post it.

I actually went through this argument with my momWhen she found out my ex was uncut. She went ahead and went through the research (she's a nurse at a pretty well-known and respected hospital) and discovered that was incorrect.I also went ahead and did research, checking and rechecking. I spoke to several people. All of it proved that it was incorrect

In Europe men have managed quite well without circumcisionAnd the same goes for Asia (apart from Muslim areas). So I really think this is incorrect and more old (bad imo) tradition. After all, female circumcisions is also a bad tradition. We condemn this but without condemning male circumcision, it is a bit hypocritical. Surgery without medical reasons in both cases."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."
