[Opinions] I knew a girl named Jackson (and other examples)
about fifteen, no, twenty years ago (she was about twenty then). Her first name was really feminine, though I don't remember what it was, Sarah or Catherine or Mary or something. Jackson was her mother's maiden name, and had been given her as a mn. For reasons that will always be unclear to me, she chose at some point in high school to be called Jackson. Not Jackie, mind you, Jackson.I don't get it, myself. I also don't understand Andie MacDowell (neé Rosalie Anderson MacDowell) or Campbell Brown (neé Alma Dale Campbell Brown) or Reese Witherspoon (neé Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon) making the same choice. Not a trend I like, no sir, not at all.

Oh I love Andie for a girl - after seeing The Concierge with Micheal J Fox

I know an Alexandra "Andy" - it actually works pretty well. I kind of like unisex nicknames though.
