Odessa was a main character in a video game that I was and I guess still am obsessed with, so I have very good associations with it. If you want to know more about that character, who will be the only person I ever associate with the name, google "Odessa Silverberg."
Anyway I don't think many people in the states realize it is also a city name.
I love the combo Odessa Elizabeth.

What's the video game? Is it very well known?
The only time I've ever come across it in reference to the place was while reading "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich." It's a very good book, but most people who read it do it grudgingly, and probably wouldn't recognize the word.

The video game is Suikoden, and I don't think it is hardly known at all, especially here in the states - but still one of my favorites.
