[Facts] Re: Kanekoa
in reply to a message by Alex
Well, it's definitely Hawaiian. As for the meaning, Hawaiian names are normally created from words in the Hawaiian language. However, just how to divide a name into syllables in order to interpret it is difficult without really consulting the parents to know what they intended the meaning to be.It is possible that Kanekoa means something like "brave man", because in Hawaiian language dictionaries kāne means "male" or "man" and koa means "brave" or "fearless." But that is just a guess on my part and one would have to consult an expert on the Hawaiian language (or the parents of the particular Kanekoa) to be sure.
