I think you would have to go Marrie. If you do just Mari, it could be confused with Mary, and any involvement of a "u" in the name is going to lead people's minds straight to Povich ;-) Truth be told the Maury show is one of my truest guilty pleasures, so I do have some fondness for the name :p but not something any little girl needs to be associated with, heh.
ETA- well, looky there....it appears as though Mari is a legit name with the spelling you seek. I feel as though I have to endorse it now...
