[Facts] Re: The meaning of my name
in reply to a message by Chimine
That's a sweet story! But at the same time, where did you get your information from? A lot of baby name sites create meanings for rare or newly invented names to make the bearers of those names feel unique. It helps them gain supporters. I'm sorry to say that, but its true.
According to this website, Chiméne comes from Ximena, which ultimately came from Ximeno. And Ximeno came from a word meaning "son". Don't feel embarrassed or anything! The feminine name Andrea comes fromm Andrew, which came from a word that means "man". It happens all the time. :) I still think Chiméne is a pretty name. And its masculine counterpart CHIMEN is handsome. Maybe you could give your son that name, almost naming him after yourself?
