Somehow Ann feels cuter, younger, and more fresh to me. It's got the same energy as something like Molly or Nora or Meg. Homey, honest, humble, and pert.
Anne is very pretty and more formal. Theres a stiffness to it, a starchy white collar sort of uprightness. It feels like an Ann that has gone to finishing school. Reminds me of names like Marie, Joan, or Rose.
I used to find Ann too abrupt, but now I honestly kind of love it. I could see Ann coming back into vogue.
