[Opinions] about Elise/Elsie...
Thanks for all the comments so far, everyone! The reason I think Elise/Elsie could be a problem is b/c where I'm from Elise is very, very, very uncommon. Elsie is fairly common among the elderly, and you know how easy it is for people to switch 2 letters when they look at a name and mistake it for a different name that pops into their head more immediately.Someone posted this comment on BTN about Elise:
"This is my name. I never have to worry about getting mixed up with other girls at school, because I am the only Elise. Not only is it pretty, it ages well. The only possible downside is constantly getting called Elsie by people who can't read."On the other hand, there is a similar comment about Elisa:
"My name is Elisa, and I really like it apart from the fact that it's hard for people to remember or pronounce straight away. I get called Alyssa, Eliza, Elise, Elsa, Elsie and Ailsa. It is pronounced the same as 'Lisa' with an 'E' on the front, ie: el-ee-sah."So - I guess you can never win! Some people will always mispronounce a name, unless it's something like Sara. :) I've always like Elise/Elyse as a middle name, but I think it could possibly work for me as a first name as Elisa.
