In Sweden the form Maria is more popular. It has been so wildly popular that little girls are not named Maria so much now, it is more a mom's or a grandma's name. The same goes for Marie.
Maja (pronounced as Maia) is an old Swedish form of Maria and is very popular for little girls nowadays. I like Molly, also getting popular in Sweden.
I also love the more uncommon Miriam.
