Imo Kylie only works on the singer Kylie .. I like Kyla

I can actually do stats for you down there in VIC!
In Victoria (that's one of Australia's states, folks) Kylie was 18th in popularity during the 80s, with 2688 girls named Kylie in that decade in that one state alone. It was even more popular in Australia in the 70s - ranked 5th and with 5242 Kylies born in that state in that decade.
