[Opinions] Re: Shea
in reply to a message by Breah
Shea on a girl is cool. Not my style but cool and fashionable, short and sweet and stylish, not weak sounding.Shea on a boy is ... pardon me. To me, it's effeminate. I mean, I can't picture a broad shouldered corporate veep, or a bearded hard rock drummer, or even a male rodeo star, named Shea, without feeling a bit jarred. It's not as femme as, say, Elizabeth, but it's just "off," it draws attention in an unflattering way, the way the name Chuck or Rod on a woman would. As much as I'd love to say I'm immune to gender stereotyping, there it is. I would never name my son Shea.
