I consider Loren to be masculine and Lauren to be feminine. The only Lorens I've met were male (I've known two).
Lauren is very soft and sweet to me. I rather like it. I know a cute little girl with this name.
Loren makes me think of a preppy guy, though the one my age I knew who acted like he was from the ghetto. The other was my soccer coach for a few years.
