[Opinions] yes, but.....

That's Harry Potter's name. Harry James Potter. He's going to be teased about it, even if they are family names or just common names that the parents like.

How many people know your middle name?Srsly. Some of my best friends don't even know mine.I find it slightly ridiculous that people always bring up the argument that kids will be teased about their middle names. Unless you go around introducing yourself by your full name, not many people are going to know your middle name. And the other posters have made valid points that Harry and James are incredibly common and most people wouldn't make the connection. And even if they DID make a connection, what are they going to say? Oh, you've got the same name as Harry Potter. That's kind of silly. But the books were cool. It's nothing truly tease-worthy. It could be much worse is all I'm sayin'.

And isn't ...Harry Potter a 'cool guy' to kids? I'd think being names 'after' him would be great for a 6-year-old:-)

Well, when I was a kid, it was very cool to hate Harry Potter. ;P I agree that him sharing his first and middle name with Mr. Potter isn't going to cause a lot of problems. If I wasn't a name nerd, I wouldn't even know most of my friends' middle names.

No, not in the UKIt's a standard issue pairing like I said in an earlier message. Most people wouldn't think twice about it.Harry has been top 20 there for many years, top 10 for four. Think about how many of those Harrys have James as a middle name. I'm betting loads.

Yes, and...His full name is Harry James Baldwin and not many children are namenerds, I bet many of them have no idea what Harry Potter's middle name is (I've read all the books and it didn't occur to me). Plus there's Prince Harry, so Harry Potter is really not the best known Harry in the UK.
Now if she's named him Draco Albus or Severus Ronald, that would be note worthy.

I wouldn't even know that it's Harry Potter's name. They are both common names.
I doubt he'd be teased, it's not like you'd go around saying your name was the same as Harry Potter's.
