[Opinions] BA for a Jpns. couple (rare name)
Manaka
They used the kanji for love (which I've never heard prn'd mana before, but there are lots of prn.s for kanji that I'm not familiar with... esp. for names) and the mana prn. is in ref. to manna in the Bible.
The ka is the kanji for fragrance which is pretty standard.
So if the first image that comes to mind when one hears this is the word manaka meaning in the middle, would that put her in the middle of God's love and provision?

Hmmm. Manaka is a tad on the harsh side for my ears. But I suppose it isn't that far off from Monica which I like. So much comes down to familiarity. I'm trying to overcome that so I'll say Manaka is on my "pending decision" list. :-D I do love your meaning for it.
Yeah... It was kind of a surprise since I'd never heard it as a name before and didn't know of that prn. for the love kanji and the dad had said they'd chosen something simple that they'd say after the baby was born... but I appreciate the thought that went into it and will get used to a new name since there are so many rare names popping up here lately since parents "make" names rather than just sticking them on kids... It's just that many parents used to make similar names and now they're doing things differently sometimes. I think it will also be better when I hear which syllable is emphasized.
