Alban is awfully close to Albus. I might even misread or think the parents miswrote the name. I guess I'd think the parents are either hipsters or big Harry Potter fans but didn't want it to be so obvious that they're HP fans.
Alan or Alban? I don't really have a favorite, but Alban does seem 'newer' and have more character than Alan.
