I really like Carol. My mother's name is Caryl (it was originally Carol, but she changed it), but I actually like Carol more. Not sure it's quite ready for a comeback because it sounds so solidly Baby Boomer right now. Give it another generation, when people may want to name their daughters after their grandmother Carol.
