Stick with Hawkeye Pierce. So much better, imo. Alphonse brings to mind a gas station attendant with a -17 IQ. I have no idea where I got that, but there you have it. Hawkeye Pierce, on the other hand, is fabulous.
Alphonse to me seems more "middle namey" than "first namey".

I wouldn't *use* Hawkeye Pierce itself, lol...
As that's a bit too much a tribute even for me! M*A*S*H is one of my all-time favourite TV shows, and Alan Alda is one of my favourite actors, though. :D I have to admit that my love of Alphonse is also related to Full Metal Alchemist, because the character Al is so damned cute.
I can see what you mean about Alphonse sounding "middle namey." I'm going to have to think about it a bit, I think.
