I think of it as trendy-retro. I think it's become a filler name.
It's appealing to people like Rose, Grace, Jade, Jean are...it can be all those in one. It packs a punch but is a basket full of sunshine.My associations are June Jordan poetry and Junie B Jones.
I also think it's passably unisex, like Jun / Juni as a masculine NN.
