[Games] Loved this :))
Decided to write a little description for every character too.The famous detective: Leon Cassius DelaneyHe's a Black man from the American South with a voice like molasses. Remarkably well-dressed. In his late 30s. Carries around a fancy cigarette case despite not actually smoking. Has a Langston Hughes moustache. The gangster: Edward Jack BrowneDefinitely not his real name. Racketter. Probably has a gold tooth and really fancy toothpicks. Teeth, in general, should be his leading motif. Oh I know! He used to be a dentist before turning to a life of crime. Rotund. In his mid-to-late 40s. Was rouguishly handsome in his youth, but there's a greasy and unpleasant vibe to him. He smells of raw meat. The gangsters secretary: Adelia Beatrix McQueenIn her late 20s, looks innocent and very charming, but has been helping Browne in his schemes for a few years now. A polyglot. Highly intelligent. Bottle-blond hair. Well-cut lips. Suspected of having an affair with her boss. Is she hoping to get into his good graces and advance his business, embezzle his funds, or is she actually an undercover policewoman seeking to expose him? Who knows! The gangsters valet: Jasper Orlando BellamyDefinitely Browne's partner in crime, who probably pilfers jewellery and cutlery, but he's so good at his job that Browne always lets him off the hook. Was briefly on the stage before going into service, yearns to return to it. He desperately wants to play the Dane, but his talent skews more to comical roles. The Missionary: Alma Pilar CortezVery beautiful, with evocative eyes the colour of smoke. Soft-spoken and modestly dressed, people usually only think "oh! What a shame that such a pretty girl is wasting herself to missionary life", but they're shocked by her religious fundamentalism. Always fiddles with her rosary and might be a supporter of Franco. The Widow: Seraphina Elizabeth GoddardLate 40s. From an impoverished aristocratic family, married a business magnate suspected of racketeering and colluding with Browne who died under very mysterious circumstances. Murdered by his wife? By the Mafia? Who knows. But his widow wears the most fashionable mourning dress imaginable. Probably wears dark glasses inside too. Everything she says is slightly ironic. The professor: Percival Justus BenedictEarly 50s, professor of Anglo-Saxon literature at Oxford, or the other place. Thin and wry, with golden wire framed glasses. He has a stutter, but is a wonderful conversationalist and very engaging. Seems to hang around a lot around Cortez - is he smitten with her, a secret sympathizer with her views, or highly suspicious of her?The Russian Noble: Natalia Alexeievna NikolskayaYoung and tragically orphaned, Countess Nikolskaya is a white Russian émigrée. Or so she claims. Wears leopard fur and huge pearl earrings, but in an earnest way. Often sighs about the balls she used to attend and the caviar and bliny she'd eat. The most stereotypical image of a Russian noble who escaped from the horrors of Bolshevism - too stereotypical? Carries thin and thick volumes of Russian literature with of suspiciously subversive content. The nobles maid: Ingrid Margot SchultzShe seems very, very close to her employer. Suspiciously so. Moved to London from Berlin, for reasons she doesn't like to discuss. Has dark, curly hair. Gets into very impassioned political discussions and her views are drastically different than those of her employer appear to be. Red-tinted, if you will. Cannot stand Miss Cruz. The Governess: Frances Agatha HardyShe won her ticket in a newspaper lottery, which she is very happy to tell anyone willing to listen. In fact, she's willing to divulge every detail of her life to anyone willing to listen. Incredibly earnest to the point of being annoying. Wears tweed and has an impressive knowledge of geography and mathematics, which she teaches to two teenage sisters (Miss Priscilla and Miss Clotilda), who she also talks about constantly, but seems a bit dim otherwise. Or is it a ruse? She's been seen sneaking around at night. The Colonel: Peter Francis ThorneThe lovable grandpa type, with a huge moustache. He used to hunt big game. His stories are a bit overlong, but he's endearing and has an intricate knowledge of South African tribes. Also, he's a war criminal who murdered civilian men, women, and children during the Second Boer War.The Hungarian Diplomat: Adrenyi FerencAlso bears an impressive moustache. Congenial, with a quiet, sonorous voice and a large burn scar from his face, from an accident he sustained as a child. Politically, he veers centre-left. In accordance with his occupation, he is very diplomatic, and avoids offending anyone. Late 30s. Speaks, like, 8 languages fluently. The Hungarian Diplomats Wife: Andrenyi ErzsébetSuffers from a nervous disposition. She spends most of the time in her compartment due to her terrible cough - and her laudanum habit. Seems to live in the past, and travels with a thick photo album that she flicks through constantly, filled with photographs of a young man who bears a striking similarity to her.The salesman: Sara Mirabel ZhangJolly Brazilian widow, who lost her Chinese husband, who owned a small, but respectable business selling rare postage stamps to philatelists worldwide and inherited his business. She has dreadful fashion sense, is in her mid fifties, clever, politically savvy, and well-travelled and genuinely delightful company. She's cried herself to sleep every night since her husband's death.Director of the wagon lits company (and friend of the detectives): Victor Adam De WittDutch. Climbed, miraculously, from conductor to director. Also sports a fancy moustache. All the men do, really, except for Browne, Bellamy, and Benedict. Maybe having your surname begin with B causes you to be clean-shaven? Clever and quick-witted, in his mid 40s. Great head for business. Delaney solved a a jewel theft on a train years ago, when De Witt was still a conductor, and they've written to each other ever since. The conductor of the Orient express: Eveline Sephóra PatelBorn to a French mother (who, in turn, was born to a devoutly Catholic mother and a Jewish father) and a Gujarati father, Eveline is the company's first female conductor who's been fascinated by trains since she was a young girl. She's just turned 20, and is very earnest and enthusiastic. Idolises De Witt, for his business acumen and knowledge of trains. Idolises Delaney for being a world famous detective. Idolises Goddard for her fashion sense. Idolises Professor Benedict for his knowledge of Anglo-Saxon poetry. Idolises Countess Nikolskaya for her daring escape from Russia. Idolises Schultz for her confidence. Idolises Zhang for her world savviness. Idolises almost everyone, really. Friendly, a quick learner, and an unabashed optimist.masculine list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/191050/124079
