I like to see classical names living on, especially ones without many variant spellings, such as
Agatha. Although I'm partial to A names, I tend to disfavor how "ag" sounds— harsh, and its first syllable brings to mind— agro, aggravate, hag, sag, rag, drag, brag, craggy, Agriculture (abbreviates to "Ag"), agoraphobia.
Ruth is more to my liking because of its softer-sounding consonants, one-syllable, and the two Ruths who I know are nice people.
