I've never considered it a stripper/prostitue name or anything of that sort.
It's short for the Italian word "bambina" ("little girl") and it's the name of an extremely cute cartoon deer. To me it screams "Barbie-Doll" name, the kind of name given by a parent who envisions their little girl as always being a little girl and never growing up. There's no scope for maturity or respect in it.
Not for me, thanks.

Lol, yeah, I probably worry far too much about what people will think. Not people in general usually, but definitely family members! And since I have a really big extended family, that's a lot of people to worry about :-/
