can u please tell me what my name means it is Murray i think my name is weird and i would like to be able to tell my friends what it means.

I'm no expert. Having traced my AYRTON surname in Yorkshire's West Riding and East Lancashire, where they are concentrated, I have an educated guess. If you will look at the map in that area you will see the town of AIRTON on the river AIRE. Just recently, I ran across the authentic AYRTON Tartan*. Seems that that the AYRTON's came from an area just close to the southern Scottish border, which would explain, I think, the AYRTON clan's tartan. Remember, in southern Scotland lies AYR and AYRSHIRE. Be proud of the name!
