This surname also exists in Slovenija: see the Mormon Site www.familysearch.com. I ignore what the meaning could be, I have just ine idea: if it comes from the slavic word "gora" or "gura" that is "mountain"?

Could it be a dialect form of golub, "dove"? Just a thought.
