Re: where does the last name Munden come from?
English, from a place name, either Mundon in Essex, or Great and Little Munden in Hertfordshire. Mundon means "protection hill", i.e., "raised groundsafe from flooding,or protected by fencing", (A.D.Rooms, "English Place-names") Munden looks like the last part means "valley".
