Almost certainly a version of the surname Brophy, Irish Ó Broithe. I don't think your spelling exists in Ireland. Of this County Leix surname Edward MacLysaght ("Surnames of Ireland") writes, "The origin of this name is obscure. I have never seen even a tentative suggestion."
