Sabater
Does anyone have info on the surname Sabater ? I believe it's of Catalán origin and may come from the word "zapato". Perhaps they were shoemakers ? Can anyone verify if this is correct or not ?

Confirmed; Zapatero is the Castilian version, Sabater the Catalan. Zapata probably means the same, a shoemaker or -repairer (cobbler).
