Lovi or Creyk?
does anyone have anything concerning either of these names? My family has not been very proactive in keeping a history but I'm hoping to find something. The last european place where we know Lovi was is Prussia. And Creyk we think comes from Scotland.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated thankyou for your time.

CreykCreyk is listed on this site. It's apparently the name of a place in Yorkshire which derives from an older form of Craig/Crag meaning rock. They have evidence of a number of Scots bearing the name so it seems it has migrated northwards. http://www.surnamedb.com/surname.aspx?name=crake

The surname LOVI still exists in Italy, perhaps it has nothing to do with the prussian lovi, it could be a variant of Loewe that is Lion?
Lovi is a surname of TUSCANY of the area of LUCCA,one of the most beautiful cities in Tuscany.
As other italians surnames like Lovo or Lovini could come from an old first name "lupo" "wolf".
