Whats "Branton" mean?
The closest I have got to this is "Brant" which is German. But what does "Branton" mean? I'm doing this for a class project that is due the 30th of August.

Maybe these two English names can help:
BRANDON dweller at the beacon hill.
BRANDT farmer on land cleared by burning.
Often the 't' and the 'd' are interchangeable ... if I had to guess, I'd say it means something like "town at the top of a hill" or perhaps "town that was founded on land cleared by burning" ...just a guess ...

Hey,
Thanks I discovered that it means "farmstead" or "settlement".
Sincerely,
Melissa
