Eisel
I am trying to find the meaning of Eisel. I know it's origins are in Austria. There was once a noble family there, the Eisel von Eiselsbergs... There is still a Castle Eisel von Eiselberg to this day near Linz, but I can't find the meaning.... Help....

Thanks,
Kevin

Derived from 'Isen' (iron) > Isenlin > Eisel(e) > (modern) Eisen. From the first name Isan(-hart), or it's an occupational surname (blacksmith, ironmonger).
